Thehigherfrequencyoscillatorprovideshigherperformancebutcarrywithitthedisadvantageof higherpowerrequirements,whiletheoppositeisofcoursetrueforthelowerfrequencyoscillator. Withthecapabilityofdynamicallyswitchingbetweenfastandslowsystemclock,thisdevicehas theflexibilitytooptimizetheperformance/powerratio,afeatureespeciallyimportantinpower sensitiveportableapplications.
