PCB Layout Guidelines(8)
Efficient PCB layout is critical for stable
operation and thermal dissipation. For best
results, refer to Figure 5 and follow the
guidelines below.
1. Connect the IC’s OUT with short, direct,
and
wide
traces.
It
is
highly
recommended to add vias under the IC
and route the OUT trace on both PCB
layers.
2. Use a large copper plane for PGND.
Multiple vias should be added for better
thermal dissipation.
3. Connect AGND to PGND.
4. Use a large copper plane for SW and
USB.
5. Place the USB output capacitor close to
USB.
6. Place two ceramic input decoupling
capacitors as close to IN and PGND as
possible to improve EMI performance.
7. Place the VCC decoupling capacitor as
close to VCC as possible.
NOTE:
(8) The recommended layout is based on Figure 6: Typical
Application Circuit on the next page.
