Output voltage is set by the variable resistor tied to the non-inverting terminal of the operational amplifier, and reference current to the transistor is developed across the 100 Ω resistor. When output voltage rises, the operational amplifier corrects by drawing current from the base, closing the transistor. This effectively pulls ADJ down and lowers the output voltage through negative feedback. Figure 33. Adjustable 4-A Regulator |
