Purpose Input The bq76PL536A provides full protection (secondary – Dedicated Pins for Synchronizing protection) for overvoltage, undervoltage, and Measurements overtemperature conditions. When safety thresholds • Configuration Data Stored in ECC-OTP are exceeded, the bq76PL536A sets the FAULT Registers output. No external components are needed to configure or enable the protection features. • Built-In Comparators (Secondary Protector) for: Cell voltage and temperature protection functions are – Over- and Undervoltage Protection independent of the ADC system. Programmable protection thresholds and detection delay times are – Overtemperature Protection stored in Error Check/Correct (ECC) OTP EPROM, – Programmable Thresholds and Delay Times which increases the flexibility and reliability of the – Dedicated Fault Output Signals battery management system. • Cell Balancing Control Outputs With Safety The bq76PL536A is intended to be used with a host Timeout controller to maximize the functionality of the battery management system. However, the protection – Balance Current Set by External functions do not require a host controller. Components • Supply Voltage Range from 6 V to 30 V The bq76PL536A can be stacked vertically to monitor up to 192 cells without additional isolation Continuous and 36 V Peak components between ICs.
