InhIbIt FunctIOn

TheSMRTSeriesincorporatesaninhibitterminalthatcanbe

usedtodisableinternalswitching.Itisnotrecommendedtotie

theInhibitpinofanSMRTdirectlytotheInhibitpinofanother

converterastheSMRTInhibitpincansinkcurrent.Whenpulling

multipleinhibitsignalslow,aseparateinterfaceisrecommended

foreachSMRT.TheconverterisinhibitedwhentheInhibitpin

ispulledlow(0.4V).Intheinhibitmodetheinhibitpincurrent

requirementislessthan~2mA.Theconverterresumesnormal

operationwhenanopencircuitisappliedtotheInhibitpinorthe

Inhibitpinisopen(unconnected).Theopencircuitvoltageofthe

Inhibitpinis5to6volts.Toenabletheconverteruseanopen

collectorontheInhibitpinorleaveitunconnected.

TheSyncInputpinisisolatedwhichallowsSyncReturnpintobe

tiedtotheprimaryside,secondaryside,orfloatwithrespecttoall

inputsandoutputs.Inputcurrentintothispinislimitedbyaseries

1kohmresistance.

TheSMRTdc-dcconvertersaredesignedtoprovidecontinuous

normaloperationthroughradiationlevelsassociatedwithspace

missionsandintacticalandstrategicmilitaryenvironments.

TheRHAlevelRconverterswilloperatenormallyinradiation

environmentswithupto100krad(Si)totaldoseandwillnot

exhibitlowdoserate(LDR)effectsat10mrad(Si)/secdoserate

uptoaTIDof100krad.

TheselevelsofradiationtolerancemaketheSMRTconverters

suitableforelectronicsinprogramswhereoperationinhigh

radiationenvironmentsisrequired.

modelsandVOUTAondualoutputmodels.Thesensepin

functionallowsaremoteconnectionforthevoltageregulation

circuittocompensateforvoltagedropsbetweentheconverter

andthepointofuse.

Notethatifthesensepinsareconnectedbuttheoutputvoltage

pinsarenot,theconvertermaybedamaged.
