AlthoughthesimplestformofthethreeTMtypes,theCompactTMtypestillcontainsthree

operatingmodes,whichareCompareMatchOutput,Timer/EventCounterandPWMOutputmodes.

TheCompactTMcanalsobecontrolledwithanexternalinputpinandcandrivetwoexternaloutput

pins.Thesetwoexternaloutputpinscanbethesamesignalortheinversesignal.

source.Therearealsotwointernalcomparatorswiththenames,ComparatorAandComparator

P.ThesecomparatorswillcomparethevalueinthecounterwithCCRPandCCRAregisters.The

CCRPisthreebitswidewhosevalueiscomparedwiththehighestthreebitsinthecounterwhilethe

CCRAisthetenbitsandthereforecompareswithallcounterbits.

Theonlywayofchangingthevalueofthe10-bitcounterusingtheapplicationprogram,isto

clearthecounterbychangingtheTnONbitfromlowtohigh.Thecounterwillalsobecleared

automaticallybyacounteroverfloworacomparematchwithoneofitsassociatedcomparators.

Whentheseconditionsoccur,aTMinterruptsignalwillalsousuallybegenerated.TheCompact

TypeTMcanoperateinanumberofdifferentoperationalmodes,canbedrivenbydifferentclock

sourcesincludinganinputpinandcanalsocontrolanoutputpin.Alloperatingsetupconditionsare

selectedusingrelevantinternalregisters.
