18.5 Register Description

The CAN Peripheral allocates an address space of 256 bytes. The registers are organized as

16-bit registers.

The two sets of interface registers (IF1 and IF2) control the CPU access to the Message RAM.

They buffer the data to be transferred to and from the RAM, avoiding conflicts between CPU

accesses and message reception/transmission.

In this section, the following abbreviations are used:

The CAN registers are listed in Table 48.

read/write (rw)

The software can read and write to these bits.

read-only (r)

The software can only read these bits.

write-only (w)

The software should only write to these bits.
