5 SUMMARY

This application note has shown that by careful identification of events that can happen in the

field, and by definition of the Flash organization and its associated control bits, it is possible to

define a method to substitute external EEPROM with the embedded-Flash of a microcontrol-

ler.

Embedded aspects, handling of the different events that can happen in the field and the need-

ed safety level are the key factors that should influence the emulation concept described in this

application note.
