AN436 APPLICATION NOTE
THE SOLUTION
To avoid the reinjected current through the transformer it is necessary to connect a diode in series with
the gate (see Figure 6).

The drop voltage VF of the diode avoid the reinjected current. The triac is triggering in the 2
nd and 3rd quad-
rants (see Figure 7).
