Ambient light compensation

AS7058 offers up to three different options to compensate for ambient light influences while a

measurement is ongoing. This chapter provides a detailed description of Double

Measurement, Tripple Measurement and the Advanced Automatic Offset Compensation

(AAOC).

7.5.2.1

Double measurement

The double sampling function measures two values within a subsample. The first

measurement is the same like a single measurement with the LED enabled and the configured

offset current is applied to the ADC input channel. The sample data is stored temporarily in the

memory. The second part of the measurement is done with the LED disabled which represents

an ambient light measurement. The difference between the first measurement and the ambient

light measurement is stored in the FIFO memory.
