Serial I/O2 transmit/receive buffer register

(TB/RB: address 1F16)

This is the buffer register which is used to write

transmit data or to read receive data.

• At write : The value is written to the transmit

buffer register. The value cannot be

written to the receive buffer register.

• At read : The contents of the receive buffer

character bit length is 7 bits, the

MSB of data stored in the receive

buffer is “0”. The contents of the

transmit buffer register cannot be

read out.
