LVD Operation
TheLowVoltageDetectorfunctionoperatesbycomparingthepowersupplyvoltage,VDD,witha
pre-specifiedvoltagelevelstoredintheLVDCregister.Thishasarangeofbetween2.0Vand4.0V.
Whenthepowersupplyvoltage,VDD,fallsbelowthispre-determinedvalue,theLVDObitwillbe
sethighindicatingalowpowersupplyvoltagecondition.TheLowVoltageDetectorfunctionis
suppliedbyareferencevoltagewhichwillbeautomaticallyenabled.Whenthesedevicesarein
theSLEEPmode,thelowvoltagedetectorwillbedisabledeveniftheLVDENbitishigh.After
enablingtheLowVoltageDetector,atimedelaytLVDSshouldbeallowedforthecircuitrytostabilise
beforereadingtheLVDObit.NotealsothatastheVDDvoltagemayriseandfallratherslowly,atthe
voltagenearsthatofVLVD,theremaybemultiplebitLVDOtransitions.

LVD Operation
TheLowVoltageDetectoralsohasitsowninterrupt,providinganalternativemeansoflowvoltage
detection,inadditiontopollingtheLVDObit.Theinterruptwillonlybegeneratedafteradelayof
tLVDaftertheLVDObithasbeensethighbyalowvoltagecondition.Inthiscase,theLVFinterrupt
requestflagwillbeset,causinganinterrupttobegeneratedifVDDfallsbelowthepresetLVD
voltage.Thiswillcausethesedevicestowake-upfromtheSLEEPorIDLEMode,howeverifthe
LowVoltageDetectorwakeupfunctionisnotrequiredthentheLVFflagshouldbefirstsethigh
beforethesedevicesentertheSLEEPorIDLEMode.
