RegisterBitsetto1,andWriteBufferAbortStatusBitsetto1indicatingafailedprogrammingoperation.

ItisafailuretochangethestateofthePPBLockbitbecauseitisstillprotectedbythelackofavalid

password.Thedatapollingstatuswillremainactive,withDQ7settothecomplementoftheDQ7bitin

thelastwordofthepasswordunlockcommand,andDQ6toggling.RY/BY#willremainlow.

• ThespecificaddressanddataarecomparedaftertheProgramBufferToFlashcommandhasbeen

given.Iftheydon’tmatchtotheinternalsetvaluethanthestatusregisterwillreturntotheready

statewiththeProgramStatusBitsetto1andProgramStatusRegisterBitsetto1indicatinga

failedprogrammingoperation.ItisafailuretochangethestateofthePPBLockbitbecauseitisstill

protectedbythelackofavalidpassword.Thedatapollingstatuswillremainactive,withDQ7setto

thecomplementoftheDQ7bitinthelastwordofthepasswordunlockcommand,andDQ6toggling.

• Thedevicerequiresapproximately100μsforsettingthePPBLockafterthevalid64-bitpasswordis

giventothedevice.

• ThePasswordUnlockcommandcannotbeacceptedanyfasterthanonceevery100μs±20μs.This

makesittakeanunreasonablylongtime(58millionyears)forahackertorunthroughallthe64-bit

combinationsinanattempttocorrectlymatchapassword.TheEAstatuscheckingmethodsmaybe

usedtodeterminewhentheEACisreadytoacceptanewpasswordcommand.

• IfthepasswordislostaftersettingthePasswordModeLockBit,thereisnowaytoclearthe

PPBLock.
